I was looking for a full coverage foundation stick. Recently I watched a few makeup tutorials using foundation stick and was very impressed with the results. If applied correctly, a foundation stick can give full coverage results hiding all the imperfections, almost like a concealer. Therefore, I decided to look around and get one for myself. I did not get to try many because they aren’t many available in the market. I do remember they used to be very popular when I was a kid but not as much now. After researching a bit, I got to test Bobby Brown and Hourglass one. They both were in the same price range AU$ 65 – AU$70. I decided to go with the Hourglass one because the formula was very lightweight and gave me a bit of glow. Needless to say, I am a huge fan of dewy look.
Let’s start with my first impressions. The tube is OMG, so beautiful! It feels very substantial in the hands. It is very compact, so it easily fits into my handbag for touch ups. Actually not just for touch ups I do my entire makeup in the train while commuting to work. I am always on a look out for compact makeup so that I can easily carry it around with me to office.
You can build up coverage from light to heavy. I will not be able to comment whether it is long lasting or not because I haven’t used it long enough to find out. I have only used it once on a friend’s engagement party. I used my fingers to apply and it worked so well since the formula is very buttery. I have a feeling that the tube may run out fast because of the formula being buttery and light.
The color range was pretty vast. I got matched with “light beige” color. It has a bit of pink undertone but not too much; just a subtle hint.
I wore it to a friend’s engagement party. As you can see, it gave me very nice natural glow.
